- Able computer, photoshop (any), wacom tablet or equivalent
- Course Description:
Eric will be introducing students to the fundamental ideas behind character and creature design through the creation of unique thumbnails and rough studies. This class will focus on the beginning essentials of how to come up with original and well thought out rough images in a short time frame. The class covers character and creature design basics like unique thumbnailing, the creating studies, tonal layout, construction and anatomy, costuming, posing, and basic lighting techniques.

- Week 1 (Character): Learning how to create quick and unique rough drawings in the creation of a humanoid character. Exploring tonal layout, silhouette and studies.
- Week 2 (Character): Learning how to create rough head/ bust studies. Exploring quick variations.
- Week 3 (Character): Learning how to make rough, full-body paintings, by pushing and pulling forms. Exploring posing, 2nd read detail. Posing.
- Week 4 (Character): Learning basic lighting techniques. 3 point lighting and material indication.
- Week 5 (Creature): Learning how to create quick and unique rough drawings in the creation of a non-humanoid creature. Exploring tonal layout, silhouette and studies.
- Week 6 (Creature): Learning how to create rough head/ bust studies. Exploring quick variations.
- Week 7 (Creature): Learning how to make rough, full-body paintings, by pushing and pulling forms. Exploring posing, 2nd read detail. Posing.
- Week 8 (Creature): Learning basic lighting techniques. 3 point lighting and material indication.
